Is it still a question today that a healthy and active lifestyle is vital to living a long and healthy life? I really don’t think so but it certainly seems this might not be well understood when the rates of obesity and overweight individuals has continued to climb over the last 50 years. Are we destined to be a larger and larger society? Can we not learn to, if not master, at least manage our bodies so that maintaining a healthy weight isn’t so difficult? We just need to exercise and eat less, was what I once thought. While this is basically true it glosses over the fact that foods we eat today in large part are made in such a way that it is hard not to want more of them. So, what is the answer? At On the Square Nutrition, we make eating a balanced diet simpler. If we can show our customers to learn to control their caloric intake and combine that with physical activity, then healthy weight management is not just possible it is very likely.
Everyone should be getting 30+ minutes of moderate physical activity at least 3 to 4 days a week. In addition to exercise, maintaining a balanced diet is equally important for a healthy lifestyle. Fueling our bodies with nutritious foods provides us with the essential vitamins, minerals, and nutrients needed for optimal functioning. A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats can help prevent illness, maintain a healthy weight, and improve our overall health. By making mindful food choices and staying hydrated, we support our body's ability to perform at its best, both physically and mentally. Embracing a healthy and active lifestyle is not just about looking good on the outside; more importantly it's about feeling great on the inside. When diet and physical activity are priorities in our lives, the probability that we will be enjoying a healthy and high quality of life for years to come is very good!
